You've been tagged

I was tagged by Crystal Bright. Oh yeah, she made my day brighter.  Follow these rules and tag someone.

Rules:

1.  Each player starts with 8 random facts/habits about themselves.

2. People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.

3. At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to tag and list their names.

4. Don't forget to leave them a comment telling them they've been tagged and to read your blog.

Here's my eight random facts. Enjoy and tag someone today.

1.  I hate housekeeping.  I'd rather pay someone money to clean my bathroom than do it myself.

2. I try anything once if the mood and atmosphere is right.  Especially food and um maybe some other things.

3. I love to travel.  Would quit my job and do it all the time if I could find someone to pay the bills.

4.  When you hurt my feelings, I'm not that forgiving as some think.  I get over it but I never forget and once you try a second time, well, that's it. You are so deep on my list you may never get off.

5.  I found a hit man once and was going to snuff my brother in law because he was hitting my sister.  luckily, she left him before I gave him the $100.00.

6.  If a man insults me, he will never get another chance to say he's sorry.  See number 4.

7.  People don't embarass me.  I find most things they do strange and likely to happen anyway.

8.  On more than one occasion, I've wondered why I went into nursing. I've been a Registered nurse for over 20 years and or more than one occasion I've hated it.  Which is weird because I am a great nurse and I do a fantastic job no matter what the situation.

The people I tagged:

Michelle Monkou

Marc

Jasmine

Kristine Painter

Donna Schmidt

Laura Bacchi

Michelle Willingham

Myra Nour

New Story

I thougth I was going to have a word block going.  A couple of weeks had passed before I could get back to the main title I was working on and I was stumped.  Now, wait. I've been writing, but it's been editing, and fine tuning some other things that were on deadline.  and when  I could finally get back to the single title I sat and reread the pages and nothing slapped at me.  I was starting to get nervous and then, pow.  It hit me.  I turned a corner and starting writing in a totally different direction that I thought the book was going to go.  So far so good.  I'm kind of bias but I think it works.  we'll see.  I love writing out of the box and out of myself.  rejuvinating.

Romantic Times

Well, just did my first Romantic Times Book Lovers conference.  What an experience.  Met some great people, authors, readers and oh lala, cover models.  It was nice to see a different aspect of the book world.  I've gone to RWA, Malice and Romance Slam Jam.  Each conference great in their own right, but I'm not sure which I like the best.  I've got to get busy though.  Got some great ideas for books, got some request for manuscripts and got to get planning for next year.

What's happened to the readers?

The other day, I did a book signing at one of the local Waldens.  the signing went very well, sold a lot of books and had a great time.  We all thought having one the week before Mother's Day was the optimal time to capture those who hadn't gotten that gift.  As I tried to promote the signing and pull people to the store I'd ask them if they'd gotten their Mother's Day gift yet.  Several people said no and when I exclaimed how wonderful books are as presents, I had several people say they'd get in trouble if they gave a book as a gift.  When did this happen?  I've always thought books make wonderful gifts.  I'd take one any day.  Why are people so afraid to read a good book?  Is this why we are falling behind in our reading and education systems?  Are people really afraid to buy books, but they can buy videos, cheap jewelry and junk food, all of which will not outlive the life of a good book.  Pooh!  Bring back the books.  the more the better.  Hats off to those who still like to crawl into bed or a chair with a book.  Keep the pages turning.

the Plumber

I had to call the plumber today.  No big deal actually.  that is until he decided to get down on the floor to inspect the leak under the sink.  I know it is an old rumor that they all have their pants down around their hips, with a fat belly and crack showing.  I must confess, THIS IS NOT A RUMOR!  Someone has got to do something about this.  Why can't they have pants that fit?  Why can't they be buff?  Why can't they look like anything than what they do?  why? Why? Why?

As this man squated on my floor it was like a magnet.  I couldn't pull my eyes away from the crack.  I wanted to. Really I did.  I thought about asking him what was up with the crack and the pants and the tee-shirt.  I know being the plumber he has enough money to buy clothes.  Why? Why? Why?

Will someone write a story about a plumber, and I want him hot, buff, cut with muscles and he has to smell good.  Maybe I'll do it.

The thing about writing

The thing about writing is sometimes I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be writing.  there are so many stories running through my head.  I know people will ask, so stories really run.  Yes, they skip, hop and jump when need be, also.  Today they are running.  Not sure if I'm suppose to be re-writing/editing an already written ms, working on a proposed story from my editor or something new that's just there begging to get out.  Maybe I can write a few pages of each.  I know that will not happen, though. Not only will the characters start talking to each other, so will the stories.  Woo is me.

Totally Unpredictable

I was talking to another writer friend of mine, Monique Lamont adnd we were talking about how our characters tend to write the story.  This is so true.  I recently started writing a novella, my first paranormal romance with werewolves.  About one third into the book and the characters started working overtime.  When I was finished I had a 75000 word book.  The characters do come alive.  So often we forget this and try to make the story what we want it to be and not what the characters want.  We need to open our minds and let the wind blow where it may.

Anniversary

I decided to take my husband out to dinner for our 7th anniversary.  I chose an new upscale restaurant, Schlingers Chop House.  What a wonderful experience.  You only live once so I had the filet mignon and the lobster.  I was so bad.  Topped off the night with awsome, totally sinful desert.  Bananas foster cheescake.  I'll be working this meal off for months.  Oh well, won't plan on doing it again for some time.  I decided, in order to keep the mind clear and alive so ideas can jump in when they need to I've got to do more things to satidfy the soul and not just the body.

Merry Christmas

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Not going to make any resolutions.  I never do.  They are just for breaking and I'm not into that right now.
